Tonight I went to go see “Jurassic Live”, which is a homemade version of “Jurassic Park”.
Produced by the Old Murder House Theater (who previously gave us “Aliens: On Ice”) they kept the script to “Jurassic Park” (mostly) the same, but they took a highly polished film and deconstructed it into a stage show filled with silly props.
Why yes there were dinosaurs! Brontosaurus’ and t-rex’s and velociraptors, oh my.
Halfway through they broke into a musical number from “West Side Story”…just because.
It was hilarious to see a group turn a film I love into utter silliness, and the crowd laughed and cheered and gave them a standing ovation afterwards.
It was fantastic.
